Schoolbook publisher chooses Neo for CMS

Finnish schoolbook publisher, Lasten Keskus ja Kirjapaja Oy, has selected Anygraaf’s Neo content managent system to manage its book production workflow. The project will be managed by Anygraaf partner, Faktor Oy, which will handle system management, training and support.

The system will be implemented as Lasten Keskus ja Kirjapaja Oyy undergoes an expansion, having recently acquired a majority of the publishing operations of Schildts & Söderström. The acquisition includes mathematics and other products focused on the primary-school grades and complements the already established position Lasten Keskus ja Kirjapaja Oy maintains in the production of pre-school educational materials.

"The Neo publishing system works smoothly and in particularly through a browser-based interface, WebNeo. Our authors will be able to upload and write manuscripts directly into the system as well as import images, work with layouts and comments, and make corrections all through a web browser,” said Juha-Pekka Heinonen, managing director of Lasten Keskus ja Kirjapaja Oy. “Working in this way we are able to further increase the quality of the content, and to readily meet the new requirements of schoolbook publishing. We will first focus on printed textbooks with the Neo-system. But since we will store all of the content in a well-planned manner we can extend the use of the system smoothly to electronic publications in the future."

Neo is Anygraaf’s multi-channel content management and design system. It is designed to implement extensive and versatile content management and publishing workflows for a variety of media including books, magazines, newspapers, websites, mobile and tablets.

Neo offers advanced tools for communication, efficient ways of routing material to different publishing channels, excellent tools for both internal and external information retrieval through its built-in DAM, as well as a rich and customizable metadata schema including various classification and tagging options, geomapping and taxonomy tools.

Faktor Oy is an Anygraaf partner and leases Neo user licenses through a cloud service as part of their product portfolio. Faktor provides directly Neo training and support to its end users.

“Licences offered as a cloud service are an affordable and effective way to get access to a truly large-scale system without large and expensive investments and deployments," said Faktor Oy managing directgor Pekka Hämäläinen.
